Creating a short URL

From the Home page, follow the short instructions below:
    1. Enter the destination: Paste the HTTP or HTTPS URL you want to shorten into the "Your URL" field, then select "Shred URL."
    2. Complete verification: Cloudflare may ask you to complete a human-verification step. The button continues to show "Shredding…" while the destination is screened and the link is created.
    3. Receive the short URL: The service normally generates a randomized three-character code and automatically uses four characters if repeated collisions occur.
    4. Use the link: Anyone who opens the short URL is redirected to the destination. Randomized links are scheduled to expire one year after creation.

Previewing a short URL

To open your newly created short URL, select it from the Your Link(s) table. The destination opens in another browser tab. A short link redirects immediately and does not provide a destination-preview page.

Copying a short URL to clipboard

To copy your short URL to the clipboard, select the copy icon to the right of the short URL. A confirmation message appears when the copy succeeds.

Creating and downloading a QR code

Select the QR-code icon beside a recent link. The service creates or retrieves a QR image containing the public sssh.red short URL, then opens a dialog where you can view or download the PNG image. Anyone who scans the QR code can open the short link.

Hiding URLs from your list

To hide a short URL from the "Your Link(s)" list, click the hide icon to the right of the original/forwarding URL.

Sharing a URL

After copying your short URL, you can share it through social media, email, blogs, message boards, or similar services. Short codes are public and can be guessed or discovered, so never use a sssh.red link as an access control or shorten a private URL containing passwords, access tokens, signed query strings, or other secrets. Editing or Deleting short URLs

There is no self-service way to edit or delete an existing short URL. Use the abuse-report form only for a link that violates the Terms of Service. For another removal concern, contact us through the support form below. Because no account is required, we may not be able to verify who originally created a link. Randomized short URLs are scheduled to expire after one year. Also see Understanding URL Expiration.

Understanding URL Expiration

All randomized short links are scheduled to expire one year after creation. Automated storage cleanup can take additional time, so an expired link should be treated as unavailable even if cleanup is still completing. You'll need to create a new short URL to continue using sssh.red.
